MEMBERSHIP
RAYS Membership
RAYS is authorized by many Azerbaijani singers, performers and recording rightsholders to represent their interests and collect royalties on their behalf both in Azerbaijan and around of the world.
Our members
RAYS has been registered to support talented singers, performers and producers of phonograms to receive a fair remuneration with respect to playing and broadcasting of their music in public. Any singer, performer and producer of phonograms can be our member without taking any additional actions, because our membership is free. Our members vary from the most famous performers of the country to independent emerging singers.
Local royalties to be paid to our members
In accordance with the local legislation and our accreditation certificate, RAYS is able to collect royalties from all users of recorded music, which include TV, radio, HoReCa. retail and other business sectors. Taking into account the amount of used music of each righsholder, we distribute all collected royalties to relevant rightsholders.
International royalties to be paid to our members
Alongside with the collection of local royalties, RAYS is authorized to collect royalties on behalf of local performers and recording rightsholders all over the world. We are signing agreements with foreign collective management organizations (CMOs) authorized by their local state authorities to issue a license and collect royalties for this purpose.
WHO CAN BE OUR MEMBERS?
PERFORMERS
Singer, musician and any other person who act, sing, deliver, declaim, play in, interpret, or otherwise perform recorded music can join RAYS as a performer member.
RECORDING RIGHTSHOLDERS
Person or the legal entity, who or which takes the initiative and has the responsibility for the first fixation of the sounds of a performance or other sounds, or the representations of sounds can join RAYS as producer of phonograms.
RIGHTSHOLDERS
Any person and legal entity who owns or who has the exclusive license over recorded music is broadcast or played in public can join RAYS as a recording rightsholder member.
